UI
I've been working at Dept® Agency in Dublin as a UI designer for 3 years, designing and building for health services, e-commerce and marketing sites.
UX
With its natural adjacency to UI, I’m drawn to and work with structure; site architecture, and reusable patterns.
Accessibility
My main project at Dept® is working on the HSE design system. What this project has taught me in terms of designing truly accessible user interfaces is hands down the most valuable quality to this experience.
Certified in W3Cx: Introduction to Web Accessibility.
Motion
Whether we like it or not, motion is already the standard in UI design. I'm really excited about this and how new tools and technologies are breaking down the barrier to entry to motion. It's fascinating to watch the likes of Jitter and GSAP and Webflow, overlapping in ways that make you wonder where it'll all end up.
See my explorations of 2D motion software, Cavalry.
Design Systems
Whether setting up from scratch or scaling larger systems, this is where I spend most of my time. I enjoy clever, flexible foundations that are fast and efficient to work with.
Development
Loads of hands-on experience building with no-code/low-code tools helps me design with implementation in mind.
